Ancheer have been producing affordable, entry-level electric bikes for around five years now and have a solid and established reputation in the budget category.
While they have headquarters in California, and even an offline store in this location, their bikes are manufactured en masse with low-cost components from China.
If you’re new to e-bikes, have a limited budget, or just need a basic commuter option for light use, the Ancheer bike range will tick a lot of boxes.
Their bikes sold online come around 80% assembled, and the work required to complete their construction is minimal, suiting even the least technically minded purchasers. The brakes and gear index need to be properly tuned before use, though. If you’re in doubt, a quick trip to your local bike repair workshop will be all that is needed, or you can pay a little extra to have the bike fully assembled via Amazon.
Of course, at this price point, there are going to be some compromises, and it’s important not to have unrealistic expectations in terms of component quality, motor power and overall potential. However, with the right care and maintenance, it’s still possible for these functional bikes to last for many years.
It’s encouraging that all Ancheer products come with a one-year warranty (for frame, battery, fork, charger and motor), and their after-sales support is pretty decent.
Reviews of the Best Ancheer Electric Bikes
Ancheer has a few popular models that are sold on Amazon and on their own website. Below we’ll review each of their top models, which should give you an idea as to whether or not the low prices are worth it compared to the quality of the eBike that you get.
- Motor: 350W high-speed brushless motor
- Battery: 36V 10.4Ah Lithium-Ion battery
- Charging Time: 6 – 8 hours
- Brakes: Front and rear disc brakes
- Max Speed: 20mph
- Max Distance: 22 – 40 miles depending on which mode is used
- Bike Weight: 52 lbs
- Max Weight Capacity: 300lbs
- MRP: $809.99
What We Loved
When you consider the price of this bike, there’s a lot to like. For starters, unlike many models at this price, it has a 350W rather than 250W motor. That makes a difference if you’re taking the bike onto less smooth trails or you will be using it to get you up hills.
Although it’s marketed as a mountain bike, it’s perhaps fairer to class this as a hybrid. Its 26-inch tires will manage well on roads and as a commuter option but could also cope with some light-off roading.
This model also has a 36v 10.4 ah battery, which is an upgrade on old models which just had 8.8ah. This gives you a surprisingly generous maximum range capacity. Although reaching the cited 40 miles maximum may be unlikely, it’s not unrealistic to get up to 30 miles on flatter roads with a reasonable amount of pedal-assist being used. Plus the 21-speed gears the bike comes with are helpful when you do want to tackle a hill.
One of the big selling points of the Ancheer bikes is their generous weight capacity. For heavy riders, these are a perfect choice. This bike can handle up to 300lbs.
Despite having such a generous weight capacity, the bike isn’t ridiculously heavy as some other electric bikes around this budget tend to be.
Why it Might Not Work For You
For seriously tough, technical trails, this bike isn’t going to cut it.
A lot of e-bikes in this budget range don’t have any suspension at all. So, it’s a bonus that Ancheer has fitted this model with a front suspension fork. It’ll do the job for the occasional bump, but it isn’t the highest quality.
It also means that when cycling in really bumpy conditions, the ride isn’t the most comfortable and the bike will take a pounding. The basic saddle also becomes more noticeable on these types of surfaces.
The gears, front suspension fork and brakes aren’t high-quality named brand varieties either. They’ll do the job, but don’t be expecting anything particularly sophisticated or highly responsive for more technical riding.
Overall Verdict
As far as entry-level electric bikes on a budget go, this model from Ancheer is well worth considering. It has a better punch of acceleration and a more generous range than many models at a similar price. Just don’t be expecting anything too sophisticated.

- Motor: 250W high speed brushless gear motor
- Battery: 36V 8AH lithium Ion battery
- Charging Time: 6 – 8 hours
- Brakes: Front and rear disc brakes
- Max Speed: 17mph
- Max Distance: 15 – 30 miles depending on which mode is used
- Bike Weight: 42lbs
- Max Weight Capacity: 330lbs
- MRP: $669.99
What We Loved
If you’re planning to use your electric bike for regular commuting, the Ancheer folding model could be just the ticket. This portable option folds up easily, making it a good choice if you want to hop on and off public transport, stick it in the trunk of your car, or store it in the office.
The frame is robust and, unlike some folding models, it collapses down without a lot of hassle.
It’s well suited to heavy riders (unlike a lot of folding bikes) and has a seriously generous 330lb weight capacity.
This model was previously fitted with a lead-acid battery, but it has been upgraded to lithium-ion so you’ll notice the difference in terms of power and longevity.
Why it Might Not Work For You
When folded down, the bike isn’t as compact as some of the more expensive varieties. If you have a small trunk or limited space to store under a desk at work, this could make it a bit more of a challenge.
It also isn’t the most lightweight model either, if you have to carry it up a lot of stairs or negotiate busy public transport, it can become a bit unwieldy. In fairness, though, the more lightweight folding models on the market generally come with a considerably higher price tag.
There isn’t any suspension on this model, and because the frame is pretty rigid and the saddle is basic, you aren’t in for the comfiest of rides on bumpy surfaces.
The 250-watt motor is perfectly adequate if you’re mainly riding on flat roads. If you have to tackle a lot of hills, though, especially if you’re a heavier rider, it will struggle.
Overall Verdict
A portable commuter option that won’t break the bank. Just don’t expect this to power you up any steep hills.

- Motor: 48V 500W high speed brushless gear motor
- Battery: 48V 10Ah battery
- Charging Time: 6 hours
- Brakes: Front and rear disc brakes
- Max Speed: 22mph
- Max Distance: 22miles(throttle mode) and 38miles(pedal assist mode)
- Bike Weight: 53 lbs
- Max Weight Capacity: 330lbs
- MRP: $899.99
What We Loved
This might be one of the more ‘expensive’ Ancheer models, but it does offer a few worthwhile benefits.
For starters, this has a powerful 500w motor. For riders looking for faster acceleration and enough punch to tackle hills with ease, the slightly higher price will be worth the investment.
The 48V 10ah battery also ensures a decent range, even if you’re powering up hills and using the throttle mode a lot.
It has a few other nice additions like a more sophisticated LCD screen with five speed setting, instead of Ancheers usual more basic LED variety with only three speed options.
This model also has larger 27.5-inch tires. These hold speed better than the 26-inch varieties on the cheaper model, so if you like a faster riding experience, these will be appreciated. They also ensure you get a smoother ride and better traction. If you plan to do a lot of trail riding, this will be a big advantage.
Why it Might Not Work For You
If you’re on a very limited budget, this bike is a couple of hundred dollars more than Ancheers more basic 26 inch tire model. If you don’t plan to do more challenging trails and you aren’t a speed demon, you might not need to make this extra investment.
Overall Verdict
With its larger tires and more powerful motor, spending a little extra makes sense for riders that plan to do more off-roading. Don’t forget, though, that none of the Ancheer models are really designed for any hard-core, technical trail riding.

- Motor: 36V 250W high speed brushless gear motor
- Battery: 36V 12.5Ah Lithium Ion Battery
- Charging Time: 2 – 4 hours
- Brakes: Front and rear disc brakes
- Max Speed: 19mph
- Max Distance: up to 35miles (throttle mode) and up to 45miles(pedal assist mode)
- Bike Weight: 50 lbs
- Max Weight Capacity: 260lbs
- MRP: $819.99
What We Loved
Unlike the other bikes we’ve reviewed, this model from Ancheer has a step-thru design. Although they might look a bit more old-fashioned, these types of low-step frames can have several advantages.
For older riders or those with mobility issues, it’s a lot easier to mount and dismount the bike with a frame like this. If you’re travelling in work clothes, they’re a lot less likely to get caught or damaged too.
It’s nice that the bike has a rear rack – perfect for commuters carrying work gear or lunch.
One of the biggest advantages of this bike is its ability to go the distance. If you have a long commute the 12.5Ah battery has the most generous range of all the Ancheer bikes featured here.
Why it Might Not Work For You
Compared to the other Ancheer models we have reviewed, this city bike has a less generous maximum weight capacity. It isn’t as well suited to heavier riders, especially given it doesn’t have a very powerful motor either.
Plus, this isn’t a bike designed to be pushed constantly up to top speeds or tackling hills all the time. The 250w power motor is somewhat limiting in this respect.
Overall Verdict
For riders with limited mobility, the step-thru frame on this cruiser-style bike will make it an appealing choice, just don’t expect impressive bursts of acceleration.

Where To Find Ancheer Bike Replacement Parts
It’s possible to purchase certain bike parts from Ancheer directly. Many of the most important parts are available from them via their California store and online shop. A limited number are also available via Amazon, but care should be taken to ensure it’s a genuine Ancheer product.
They don’t do a full range of components, but it’s certainly also possible to source compatible parts from other suppliers. If you’re doing this, always make sure it’ll be something that will work with the model of bike you have.

What Type of Battery Does Ancheer Use?
Electric bike batteries will inevitably need to be replaced somewhere down the line. When the range of your bike starts to diminish, this is usually a sign that the battery is nearing the end of its life cycle. Ancheer use replaceable lithium-ion batteries for all of their e-bikes. The voltage can vary depending on the model.
Can you find replacements?
Ancheer sells replacement batteries directly (here’s a link to their part shop), so they’re generally not too difficult to source.
Do you have to get them from the company?
You don’t have to buy them directly from Ancheer, however, getting an exact replacement isn’t always easy.
If you don’t buy from Ancheer or a certified supplier and it isn’t the right battery type, it could damage the controller or motor on your bike or, worse, it could be a fire hazard when charging!
If you do decide to buy elsewhere, be sure to do your research and be aware that if you replace it within the first year of owning the bike, using a non Ancheer product will likely invalidate the warranty.
Where Can You Find Ancheer Electric Bike Manuals?
Ancheer are generally pretty responsive. If you have lost a manual, it’s missing from the box when your bike arrives, or you just want to see further details in advance of ordering, drop them an email at service@ancheer.shop. All their manuals are written in English.
